Debating Sarah Palin

We all wonder how the Palin/Biden debate will go tomorrow. We all have our perceptions of her recent interviews. Many think the campaign managers are changing her too much, scripting her answers, and filling her head with millions of bytes to memorize. I think that has happened. I think she pretty much held her own, BUT, she could have, and should have, done better. There is a sense that now the campaign is trying to undue the damage they did. Good! She was a GREAT debater before she was tapped to run for V.P. and she is still a great debater now, if her hands get untied. For what I consider to be an impartial source, please follow this link to hear right from a guy who knows.

Andrew Halcro debated Sarah Palin at least a dozen times. If anyone on this earth knows her debate style, it is him. His article in the Christian Science Monitor reveals a Sarah Palin that has the ability to mop the floor with the seat of Biden's pants with him still in them, if you get my drift. If she has been untethered by her campaign handlers, I think she will easily beat Biden, even if Gwenn Ifill is lopsided and unfair as the moderator. I'm not so sure that will be the case. Her book may even sell BETTER if NOBAMA loses! The one thing I know for certain is that I will be watching this debate. If she accomplishes what I think she is capable of tomorrow, we could see a remarkable bounce in the polls, one which NOBAMA will not recoup from.

That last sentence reminds me, keep an eye on that AOL poll I posted the other day. It still shows McCain ahead of NOBAMA nationally at 60% versus 40%. This is based on over 400,000 votes. Here is the link again so you won't have to go looking for it. For those of you interested, this poll will include third party candidates starting Thursday. I hope this poll is closer to the truth than other polls which only survey 1000-2000 people. Of course, it can't be used by poor demoncraps with no computer, so many of NOBAMAS core base don't even know it exists. That might not be correct, they probably all bought one with loans the government made the banks give them(sarcasm).

They would like to WHT, but I don't think that's going to happen this time. I'd love to see her give an interview with Lou Dobbs. He can be real tough, but I think she'd get a real fair shake from him. He may even try to overcompensate for the rest of his profession.

Joe, what is that poll? Looked like just a poll on a conservative blog. Am I missing something?

Tomorrow morning, I'm posting a short little note to Sarah......I hope you check it out!! TOmorrow night, I'm DRINKING !! (Smile)

Z, its a pole on who you want to be our next POTUS, and McCain is winning by a landslide! It should start over tomorrow aand it will include other candidates from third parties. You might have to go to the AOL homepage and follow links to find the page to cast a vote. Then the page you found from my link comes up--after you vote.

As i said over at Z's blog -

I think she'll do just fine, and even if she doesn't, Sarah Palin is going places and what she can't beat will only make her stronger. Sometimes it's good to fall on your ass or your face, it'll teach you valuable lessons that you will carry for the next time.

She has the looks, the charisma, the love of country, belief in God and life, she also has the right leadership instincts. When she was picked i remember saying we should be careful not to expect too much of her, though she has excelled beyond all expectations, i still feel the same way.

Despite the herculean efforts of the left to smear and tar her, she has emerged largely unscathed and her opponents bloodied and empty handed. The future in this dark and dangerous world is growing ever more bleak and it is yet to dawn upon many of us. When it does, we will need leaders like her to lead us through the dark and back to the righteous path.

If Palin will just be herself, she'll do more than fine.

We shall see...

Z, I'll try to figure it out later.

Brooke, SHE DID MORE THAT FINE!! I just got done watching the debate abd 30 minutes of ABC's pundits. They all called it slightly for Biden, THEY ARE WRONG! I'll admit that Biden did quite well also, but Palin definitely won! As usual, the people favoring one or the other didn't change their minds, BUT, most of the undecideds who tuned in, probably by the millions, had to have sided with her. She spoke almost exclusively right to them. Biden didn't.

As I guessed, Gwenn Ifill was a very good moderator. She didn't let her impartiality show through at all. If anything, she may have sided with Sarah. Maybe she's a feminist first and a book author second?

Z, try this new link. As of right now, it says "new poll coming soon", but by the time you see this, it probably will be back working.

Palin definitely hit it out of the park!

I loved how she looked at the camera, and answered what she thought was pertinent!

I'll bet that Ifill was overly cautious in order to not seem impartial.

I could not agree with you more!
Sarah Palin won the debate by holding her own with poise and confidence. The strength and quiet joy she showed tonight are remarkable in light of the attacks she has endured. As governor of Alaska, she has demonstrated her ability to bring about change. Obama and Biden only talk about it.

Brooke, She sure did win Miss Congeniality!! She just has that natural ability to captivate the heart. I'll bet if she wasn't in any political race, even most liberals would agree to that. They hate her for being so---her! I can't believe the media is still all saying that Biden won. The polls will prove them wrong!

John, first, thanks for visiting my humble abode, and for commenting. Thank God her campaign handlers took the hand cuffs off in time for this debate! It was stupid the way they changed her tactics for the interviews she did. Everyone blames her for bad times with Gibson and Couric, but I lay the blame where it belongs, on her coaches at the time. You used the word "poise". Perfect description!

Joe,

I blame the coaches too, but I also blame the interviewers themselves. When they interviewed Palin, they asked her difficult questions to specifically make her look bad--such John McCain's regulatory history. When they interview Obama, its more of them gawking in awe and getting "tingling feelings in their legs" as the Messiah speaks his wisdom.

Not sure if you saw my comment over at my blog, but I was in San Francisco for the day on Monday and they have posters plastered up on the walls of buildings and portraits/campaign signs on every other car, half the shops, and even on people's shirts! The "Dear Leader" might be the best way to refer to him...

BTW, did any of you see any of the gaffes Biden made? Google it!

I have always felt great regret when a great person is injured by a criminal in a position of power. Like when Nero had Paul the apostle's beheaded or, the ultimate example, when Pontius Pilate ordered the crucifixion of Christ. Now, don't get me wrong, I am in no way comparing Palin to Christ (I am not quite as pathetic as Obama supporters).

However, Couric is a joke. Her sole purpose during that interview was to make Palin look bad. Palin knew that. She knew that anything she said was just going to be twisted and used against her. Couric's desperation was blatant. The bad news for Couric is, she didn't have an audience before the interview and she didn't gain one after the interview. Even when attempting to politically crucify the most dangerous nemesis to the Obama cult, she still isn't getting the audience she needs to keep her job. Couric is a has been before ever being a "been."

Palin, on the other hand, is here to stay.

C.H., Yes, you are 100% right about the hostile interviewers she has gone up against. I was so glad to see Gwenn Ifill act decently at the debate. I thought she did a real nice job. Sarah Palin did her first post-debate interview today with Carl Cameron from Fox news. Needless to say, it was much better than the others. Here's the url if you want to read the transcript:

Uncle Sloane,, welcome and thank you for dropping in. You have Katie Couric pegged well. She is just another left wing moonbat. How they ever gave her that position boggles my mind. Check out the url above. One of the topics that Carl brought up was the Couric interview. Palin answered it very well. It was SO refreshing to see her in an interview where no one was trying to screw her up.
