God Bless the USA

Happy Veterans Day to everyone, especially my fellow vets, and most particularly to our current troops both in the war zones and anywhere else they may be stationed. Lest we forget, freedom has a price, a high price. The greatest country in the world is truely blessed to have people ready willing and able to stand tall when necessary to keep our freedom alive. And so it is on this day, the 11th day of the 11th month, that we honor those brave men and women. Be sure to hoist your flags today and let the libs know we still care, even if they don't!

Please scroll down to my previous post about the Disabled American Veterans and do what you can for my comrades who were less fortunate than I. They could use the help and they sure earned it!

Happy Veterans Day. A special thank you to you and all those that have served in the military. It is only through your dedication and sacrifice that we are the country we are today! God Bless America!

Thank you Jenn! It means a lot to me, and I know to all vets, when people express true patriotic feelings about our great country. I never will understand why so many people just "don't get it." Even with all of our faults, this is still the best country there ever was! Hopefully we will be able to say that in the future.

One of the greatest songs to be written in my lifetime. May it be sung a century from now by free Americans.

MK, thank you and thanks for stopping by also friend.

Commoncents, thank you and yes, I'll add you to the rolls.

Shoprat, Amen to that brother. There are several songs that brings a bit of water to the eyes, and that is certainly one of them.

Old Soldier, thank you for your service also. Salute back at ya! Somehow, I expect we will survive NObama, I'm not sure how, but I believe we will survive.

Angel, thank you for that and always know I'm here for you too.

PCC, thank you. Keep up the good fight. I know it has to be hard in one of the lib capitals of the world!

Thank you for your military service, average american.

Without those willing to serve, we'd have no country.

Our WWII veterans are diminishing every day. We must continue to speak for them and honor their great sacrifice. Honor ALL our veterans on this day.

Wordsmith. thank you. It seems as though America still has people willing to do what it takes. All the branches of the service report exceeding recruiting goals for October.

Z, you should have visited my blog first, and you wouldn't have forgotten your flag. Just don't let it happen again dear.

Tapline, we were invinceable back then, or at least so it seemed. I remember one morning, I woke up to find myself all alone. As I stumbled out, heading for the latrine, I found out why. There was a morter hole about 15 feet from my hootch and the rest of the guys had slept in the bunker. I never even woke up.

BZ, you are right there! I was just reading somewhere, that there are only 10 vets left alive from WWl, and that is worldwide, not just here. WW2 is getting there also. My Dad was in that one, and he's gone now, as are most of the WW2 vets I knew.
