Al-Qaida No. 2 blames Obama for Gaza fight

CAIRO, Egypt – Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader lashed out at President-elect Barack Obama in a new audio message Tuesday, accusing him of not doing anything to stop Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip, according to an intelligence monitoring center.

The recording purportedly by Ayman al-Zawahiri was al-Qaida's first comments on the Gaza crisis since Israel launched its offensive against the Islamic militants of Hamas on Dec. 27.

In the comments, which were posted on a militant Web site and obtained by the SITE Monitoring Service, al-Zawahiri described Israel's actions in Gaza as a "crusade against Islam and Muslims" and called it "Obama's gift to Israel" before he takes office later this month.

"This is Obama whom the American machine of lies tried to portray as the rescuer who will change the policy of America," al-Zawahiri said, according to SITE. "He kills your brothers and sisters in Gaza mercilessly and without affection."

Al-Zawahiri, who is Egyptian, also criticized Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, calling him a "traitor" for keeping Egypt's border with the Gaza Strip closed since Hamas seized power.

"At the time when Israeli planes drop their bombs from the air, he closes the borders with his forces so that the plan of the killing of believers in Gaza is fulfilled," al-Zawahiri said, according to SITE.

He urged Egyptians and Muslims around the world to pressure Mubarak into opening the border and to take a more active role in fighting Israel.

Thousands of people in cities worldwide have held mass street demonstrations to protest Israel's offensive, but al-Zawahiri said those were not enough.

"Fight the Zionist Crusader campaign," al-Zawahiri said, according to SITE. "Strike its interests everywhere you can reach them. Support and back your mujahedeen brothers and children against them."

The audio message was accompanied by a still photograph of the al-Qaida leader sitting with a gun in his lap.

The recording could not be immediately verified, but SITE said it was posted on Web sites commonly used by Islamic militants. The recording also carried the logo for al-Qaida's media production house, Al-Sahab.

Poor NObama, he's not even in office yet and already that dastardly Ayman al-Zawahiri is picking on him. So much for sitting down with him with no preconditions. Better go back to plan A, shoot first and ask questions later! Folks, I think reality is starting to set in. Poor NObama is in WAY OVER HIS HEAD! Here's the link to the story.

Another element to al-Zawahiri's criticism of Obama: Arabs are notorious racists. In fact, the word for "black man" and "slave" is one and the same in Arabic.

The Arab world is going to rock and roll with an American President of African blood. Batten down the hatches.

The will go to plan A and you will witness how the left suddenly start to favor fighting fire with fire, when it's their ass on the line. Hypocrites.

On a side note, i wonder how quickly the sheeple around the world who thought that Obama is going to stop the seas from rising and bring in a new age will wake up to their stupidity.

Lastly, i wonder how Obama is going to spin, not closing Gitmo down and granting the inmates citizenship, i know he wants to close it, but the reality of the job he just grabbed hasn't quite sunk in i think. The phrase, careful what you wish for, keeps popping into my head for some reason. :)

Apparently, Obama has been staying quiet on the Gaza offensive, and this has angered some people in the Middle East. Remember, Obama traveled to Israel a few months back and defended Israel's right to self-defense. All of these people who thought that US policy towards Israel will change are in for a rude awakening.

Joe,

I posted a video of an international law expert explaining the circumstances in Gaza over on my blog. I thought you might like it.

The amusement I get from reading the comments of deluded right wing fools that have poted here, is tempered by the utter failure of Bush and Republicans before him to actually win a war. Bush has had 7 years to get Binladen and al-Zawahiri. One Sadaam Hussein, 4213 of our Soldiers not to mention the thousands injured permanently. And God knows how many Iraqi women and children, and we still don't have the two biggest pricks behind 911.

Soory. Forgot Mullah Omar. He's still running around feasting on goathead stew someplace.

More reason to think that The Obama is going to be a one term president.

The only reason the Muslim world was giddy about Obama: HE'S A PUSHOVER AND THEY KNOW IT.

Now, to quote the wrong 'reverend' Wright: The chickens are coming home to roost.

AOW, Battan down the hatches indeed. It looks like a rough 4 years coming up. Thanks for dropping by.

MK, buyers remorse is already setting in by many factions on the left. He probably will end up closing Gitmo, and that's ok, we are building a new bigger jail in Afghanistan. Besides, if ever a terrorist escaped from Gitmo, he could possibly make it to the US, it's only 90 miles, and the Cuba rafting service has twice daily 1-way trips to Florida.

CH, he's being quiet on Gaza because he hasn't a clue on what we should do about it. It's either that, or he plans to throw the whole country of Israel under the bus as soon as he takes over.

BZ, isn't it great to gloat when history starts to prove we were right all along? HA HA!!

Truth?, It's a work in progress, progress that has been a bit slow mainly because of Clinton decimating the military. And it was Clinton that actually HAD Bin Laden in his sights and let him go. Another point, how can you be sure Bin Laden is still alive? I tend to believe this may not be the case. Glad we could be a source of your amusement as you are for the rest of us.

Shoprat, I believe you are 100% correct on that prediction.

Brooke, AH YES, the infamous chickens. His chickens might be coming home, but his flock is starting to abandon him.

Angel, that would be global warming--roflmao. Seriously, I hope not to warm.

Beth, I think he may very well be. It would make sense. He could have easily been killed by a drone and no one would necessarily know it.

Tapline, I'm not sure NObama could talk to al-Zawahiri, at least not without laughing at him. Could you look at that lumpy-headed idiot without laughing in his face, I couldn't.

AA: it was your right wing wacko spokesmen like Rush Limbaugh who pilloried Clinton for sending the cruise missle into Afghanistan to get BinLaden. This idiot was against getting terrorists before he was for it.

Truth,

I don't see the operation in Iraq the way you do. For one thing, I happen to believe that following the charter of "Never Again" and stopping a genocidal madman like Saddam can be separate from the war on terror. However, some may disagree. Saddam was a major supporter of terrorism (notice I did not say Al-Qaeda, for you kook-fringe "antiwar" types)...he financed the suicide bombing campaigns against Israel, and with his departure, there has been a dramatic decrease in terrorist violence inside of the Jewish state. The is one very positive outcome that has been virtually ignored over the past six years.

Yeah, Right CH. Things are going wonderfully over there. Forgive me for being blinded by the Sunni on Shia violence and the persecution of Christians in Iraq. Now that all the Christians have been killed or driven out, things are much better. Three cheers for the war!

How does it feel, Barry? During the Bush Administration, everything was his fault. Now it will all be your fault. Welcome to the White House, buddy.

JoMala "Truth 101" Kelly said...

You do know it was the Conservative God Ronald Reagan that said "these people are irrational" and left Lebanon after our Marines were killed by a suicide attack. You hate me for agreeing with Reagan? What the hell kind of conservative are you man?

C.H. said...

I am certainly not a conservative, and I think that Reagan made a horrendous mistake, leaving Lebanon in the hands of Hezbollah and Iran.

This isn't left or right, its right or wrong, man.

Angel, thanks for the beautiful weekend, you're welcome for the support, and------uuuuummmm----I love hugs!

PCC, I think Barry might just be having second thoughts about his winning. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? I think anyone is his shoes would be at least very apprehensive.

Truth, if Clinton actually listened to Rush and made any decisions based on what one media person had to say, then he was a worse President than I had originally thought. The religious tensions in Iraq lie mainly with only the minority of people. If you want a more rounded view of what is really going on over there, talk with Iraqi citizens and even better, American troops who have served over there. If you ask 100 troops, 90 will say we belong there. Of course there will always be a few who disagree. Our troops and Iraqi citizens can both be found in the blogosphere. Start with my Iraqi blogroll if you like. I highly recommend "the last Iraqi." He goes hot to cold on the entire issue, but I believe what he says. One thing that remains constant with him is the need for the US to finish what we started. You will find Mohammed a very intelligent guy for a 25 year old, although I think he may be a year or two older since he updated his info. I liked Reagan, but I will admit, as he would have, that he was HUMAN, unlike your messiah. One last thing, I liked your cat with the Rolling Rock better.

CH, what I find most amazing is who the left blames for the error about WMD. They almost to a person blame Bush(Bush lied-people died) but who purposely made the whole world think he had them? Any blame in that arena goes to Saddam. I have to agree with you about (This isn't left or right, its right or wrong, man.) Another point, much of the violence in Iraq had a lot more to do with corruption and greed then it did with religion. Anyone who wants to take the time to study up on the history of the early days of the Russian mafia will find striking resemblances to modern times in Iraq. It's almost uncanny, the similarities between the two.
