Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN)
for 6 a.m. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with
his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG).
He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN
SINGAPORE)
and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA).
After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA)
he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO)
to see how much he could spend today.
After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio
(MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY)
and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.
At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless
day, Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his
sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine
(MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA),
and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job
in.....AMERICA.....
This really isn't exaggerated all that much. It's a sad state of affairs that will take a real concerted effort by ALL Americans to correct. The way things are going, we won't even have enough jobs left in the U.S. for our illegal alien workers. Hey! That's it! We don't have to fix that problem. Time will fix it for us! Maybe I should run for President!! Now, what to do about that Iraq situation.

It's an oldie that one, but still relevant.
I would vote for you Joe.
It sure is MK.
THANK YOU Beth!!
Wow...that describes are economic situation very well. I agree with Beth, you should run for office!
That's not just an oldie...that's a "Classic!" - Like a '69 Mustang or a '72 Chevelle.
You'd get my vote too, Joe and as for that Iraq problem...I'm thinking it would make a nice giant parking lot, but that's just me.
Maybe I should have asked who your spiritual advisor is before I said I would vote for you, lol.
Thanks for adding my blog to your list, I am honored!
Thank you C.H. and Fallen Angel, I'll remember you guys if I ever really do run. No problem Beth. It's easier for me to go check your blog that way, and I really do like your blog. My spiritual advisor is----me. I believe in a supreme being whom I call God. I do not believe in any particular religion except for my own. I subtract everything that man has added to what God said and live by His rules as I see them. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! That is a bit simplistic, but it does cover the bulk of my beliefs.
You are your own spiritual advisor?
Wow, radical idea, man!
I have a similar belief system, seeing as I am not a member of any particular organized religion. I do however, believe in a higher power, and I do consider myself to be spiritual.
I often meet with members of the Catholic, Muslim, and Jewish community here in the Bay Area--and the conclusion I have reached is that all religions are paths leading up the same mountain.
EXACTLY my point of view C.H., or as I put it, all the religions you mentioned are different branches of the same tree.
Not really radical at all Beth. For thousands of years, men have interpeted, translated, revised, and manipulated ALL religions to the point that I have a hard time believing in either of them. Every one says they are right and you have to believe them to get to Heaven. Which one is correct? Why should I think that any of them knows any more than I do? I think religion is needed by the majority of people to teach right from wrong and a whole bunch of other values but I already have that down pat so I prefer to believe what I think is right (the golden rule). Wasn't it you that I told "I'm less conservative than you?"
Joe, I hope you don't think I was questioning your ability to be your own spiritual advisor, my commentary was that we each should be able to be our own spiritual advisor!
That being said, I should warn you that I am one of those people who does follow a particular religion, but I don't think that God favors any one religion over another, or thinks one has to be part of a particular religion. To me it is a means of being part of a community of people who have similar beliefs.
AA, Many moons ago.....President Ike,,,,declared anything sold in AFEX/PX/BX military exchanges had to be made in the US. It lasted quite some time, but as with everything a new administration everything changed until now when some wayward individuals, won't mention who, want a North American Union and create a new currency, Weve come a long way!!! Now as I read down the comment way, I would say that the majority of the commenters are Agnostic. That unfortunately, is a big problem, here in America, Not that I am against anyone's belief system. God Forbide, I do not believe however that all religions lead to God, or are branches of the same tree. If as some of you say you have heard or spoke about the different religions, I would suggest you read more and see exactly what is there. There are basically, three religions who supposedly, worship the same God. 1. The God of Israel 02. The God, in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, the Christian God, and finally,3, The Muslin God,Allah and Mohammed is his messenger. The root may have originally been the same, but the branches are bearing much different fruit. I ramble,,,,stay well.....
No problem here Beth. Most people do feel a need to have a religion. Actually, I am a catholic, but I do not believe priests who say you must be a catholic to attain Heaven. I'm older and maybe they don't even still preach that. I hardly attend church, so maybe everything is different and I just don't know about it.
Unfortunately "Made in America" means little to most people these days Tapline. It is also very true that it is getting mighty hard to find things made here. I do my best, but even I end up buying imported a lot more than I would like.
The 3 religions you named, Jews, Christians, and Muslims do all believe in the same God. They do not however believe in the same man additives. As an example, Jesus is the son of God to Christians. He is a phrophet to the Muslims. I'm not positive about the Jewish belief, but I think they believe he is yet to come? Not sure. I still think--same tree, different branches.
I probably should avoid talking religion in my blog. I really don't know enough about either of them, and as you say----"I ramble."
Joe
Well then I posted something about religion at my blog.
