We had the mother of all ice storms last week, a little reminder that the earth hasn't completely heated up yet. Nature can be beautiful and ugly at the same time.
Here are just a few of the 2100 pictures that people have sent our New Hampshire television station in the last week. They are a rather graphic display of why I say "Global Warming My Ass!" New Hampshire had 430,000 electric customers with no power. A week later and we STILL have 54,000 customers without it. These numbers are customers--not people! Figure at least an average of two people per house and we have a population of about 1.5 million. You do the math! To see the rest of the pictures follow this link, or go to wmur.com.

Thanks for posting this Joe. Amazing isn't it, even in the frezing cold they keep screaming shrilly that it's all going to end.
Except now it's just climate-change, so anything change in the weather can be conveniently blamed on us humans. Keep using the term 'global warming', don't let them change the terms of debate in their favor.
Hang in there during the cold Joe, if some of the scientists starting to speak up are correct, this is just the beginning.
you should see NYC hun..its a blizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzard!..ha
Wow, impressive photos. Huge arctic front..freezing cold out this way too. Any idea of how to live in a frozen house without electicity, or if whole towns are
out?
better start throwin the blankets around the fireplace, BB. and while that fire is going, throw a big iron pot of chile on too.:)
AA, Now we are in the middle of a snow storm....about 6 inches so far and still snowing.....more on Sunday....Global warming??????Where!!??....stay warm.....at least I have two generators now.....Only one hooked up though....
Holy Cow!!! That must've been the mother of all mother of all ice storms!
Stay warm!
I look out my windows at cold and gloom, but when I see these pictures I feel quite fortunate indeed.
Some incredible photos, wow!
Can't blog wothout power, glad yours is working, Joe!
Yep, the Libs are keeping themselves very busy changing their mantra from "global warming" to "climate change." Backpedalers one and all.
I'm shivering from all the global warming brought to cloudy southern California.
That's what's so wonderful about Global Warming: if it's actually hot, then it's Global Warming. If it's cold, well, then, it must have been aberrant Global Warming that got us there in the first place, eh? How convenient.
BZ
It is colder here in Texas than it has been in years. Global warming my BUTT!!! The only thing that is getting warmer is my stomach from all the hot cocoa I keep pouring down my throat.
Hi Joe, I just wanted to you you and your readers, and all the rest of my buddies A very Happy Chanukah, A very Merry Christmas and a very Happy and a healthy New Year to come for 2009
MK, The Al Gores of the world just will not admit they might be wrong, of course we know there's no "might be" about it.
Angel, we got your blizzard the other day! WOW! Thirty inches of white crap.
BB, it was about 2/3s of the States population, many for more than a week. The only way to make it through is to "keep a stiff upper lip" and either burn wood, bundle up real good or find temporary shelter. Generators, if you have one is the best way to go. Many people here have one.
Griper, the chile is the best part of the whole thing. Kind of like the "silver lining in the cloud"!
Tapline, you guys in the south of the state got a worse deal with the ice storm last week, but I think we just got buried deeper in the snow than you, over 30 inches in 24 hours. GW my ass!
Brooke, it was the worst in history as far as number without power was concerned. In the winter of 1997/8 we had a bigger one in the higher altitudes, but a lot less population so less damage and less people affected.
Shoprat, sitting on the warm side of the window is definately the best place to be. Right now, I turn around and look out at 10 degrees, windy, and a lot of snow left to shovel. BBBRRRRR. Oh well, it'll still be there tomorrow.
Beth, thank you. I, along with most of the residents way up north lucked out. We got quite a bit of freezing rain, but it turned over to snow faster than our unlucky neighbors to the south. I have two boys who live south in New Hampshire and Maine. They both lost power for a week. They are fine now though.
PCC, of course there's climate change. It changes every 5 minutes! Those bozos can't predict what tomorrow's weather will be and we're supposed to believe them when they predict years and decades down the road? Ya right!
Wordsmith, I'll gladly swap you our snow filled-clouds for your rain-filled clouds for a while. How can any rational person believe in all that bull they're trying to serve us? Unbelieveable.
BZ, that's a little like having your cake and eating it too. You know, cover all the bases. What assholes.
TT, I'll be the first to admit, every once in a while we do get some very unseasonable temperatures around here, which I happen to like. I attribute these brief warm spells to Global Warming enthusiasts shooting off their mouths and the resulting hot air escaping their lips and entering the jetstream.
DD2, Happy Holidays to you also. May 2009 be a better year than the last, though I somehow doubt that it will be, what with the "change" we have coming.
Thank you all for dropping by and Happy Holidays to you all, whatever Holidays you happen to celebrate!
Happiest and most loving holiday ever my friend!..hugs!
holy smoke..and I'm complaining that it's in the fifties during the day and will be raining the next couple of days?
MERRY CHRISTMAS, AVERAGE....All the best in 2009
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas filled with merriment, family, friends and loved ones Joe.
Merry Christmas!
Wow....Just Wow! I don't remember ever having that kind of a storm in Jersey!
Angel, thank you and the same back atcha!
Z, thank you and you'll be glad to hear, we are expecting to see the mid-forties tomorrow.
MK, thank you and I hope yours was great also.
Neo Soc, thank you and I hope yours was great also.
Jenn, long time no see friend! It was a doozy that's for sure. It hit the southern part of the state much worse than up here. Hope your Christmas was even better than you hoped for!
