President Obama Awards His First Military Medal Of Honor

SGT Monti, SGT Lybert, PVT Bradbury, SGT Craig, heroes all, may you rest in peace and may your families and friends be comforted in the knowledge that they are not alone in their grief.

I would like to note that as much as I dislike most of what our President does, I applaud him for the way he handled this. It was excellent. I hope that he really listened to his own words. They can only make him a better person and a better Commander-in-Chief..

It's about damned time.

I've got no audio at my current location, so I'll have to listen later, but I am glad Obama FINALLY honored someone from the military and their sacrifices.

On rare occasions he acts presidential. This was one of them.

I was impressed, too, Average.
I hope he believed what he said because it's anathema to anything he's believed all his life; or seems to be.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. I have always believed in giving credit where it is due and it was due this time. As I listened to his words and watched his face, I came to believe that he really was impressed with the actions of that day back in 2006. I think he had a glimpse of what true heroes are about, all 16 of our troops that were there.

Times like this are bitter sweet because we all know what he really thinks about the military. It is only because the military fight for America that Obama can be President, that we still have the freedom that we do.

Ceremonial duties are the easiest because they are formulaic. Kind of like a teleprompter.

Still this was a worthy moment.

Debbie, while it is certainly true that he does NOT hold the same esteem for our military as I do, I will hang on to my hope that this experience has warmed his heart a few degrees. I think it has.

Shoprat, this was his first time at presenting this most highest of honors and I think he did a great job at it. I also don't think it is possible that the experience didn't affect him at least a little bit.

I agree with you Double A, he got a "glimpse" of what true heroes are about..I hope he reflected on those ten minutes so we can see more of these moments.

King, your last post is amazing! IYou were right, I will have to go back and finish it later, I have to go eat before the restaurant closes, but I will go back. When I do, I'll probably link up and send my friends over. Thanks for dropping by.

Yes, it is true, we might not support obama and he might be a leftist, but not 100% of what they get up to can be wrong. Good on him for this.

MK, he did well and I hope he has become a better man for it.

God bless these heroes and their families!

As Michael Medved said in regards to his 9/11 speech (Medved felt it could have been delivered by any president, Democrat or Republican, and that if it had been the latter, we wouldn't be making a fuss), we should applaud Obama for the times when he does things right, or things we can agree with; otherwise, just opposing him simply because of the letter "D" next to his name on all things "Obama"...it certainly won't encourage him if you boo him no matter what he does.

Well and good BUT! May I ask WHY NO SALUTE BY OBAMA AT MEDAL OF HONOR CEREMONY? Once again the intensely intelligent President Coconut shows his ignorance.
I guess that without a teleprompter to tell him what to do and what to say this presidential wanna-be cannot get anything right.
